Description

Description

The Punta Lomitas wind farm is located in department of Ica, Peru. The facility has 260MW of electricity generation capacity. Power producer Engie Energia Peru SA, part of French energy utility group Engie SA (EPA:ENGI) is developing the project. Total project cost is 300 USDm. The company closed financing with undisclosed financial entities for USD 150 million (EUR 123.4m) in June 2021. In March, the power producer was granted a definitive concession from the Peruvian government to build and operate the Punta Lomitas wind farm, Engie’s first in the South American country. The plant would consist in the installation of 57 wind turbines, distributed over an area of 77 hectares, with a unit capacity of between 4.5 and 5.2 megawatts per wind turbine; and a 60 kilometer electric transmission line that would connect the wind farm to the National Interconnected Electric System (SEIN). Siemens Gamesa was tapped to supply 50 units of the SG 5.0-145 turbines, while Spanish engineering and renewable group Abengoa SA was selected to build the transmission lines for the project. Engie Energia said it expects to launch construction in the second half of 2021. https://renewablesnow.com/news/engie-inks-loan-for-260-mw-wind-project-in-peru-743611/ https://www.evwind.es/2021/06/04/engie-closes-financing-of-150-million-dollars-for-future-punta-lomitas-wind-power-plant/81106 https://global.factiva.com/redir/default.aspx?P=sa&an=WBNA000020210602eh610000u&cat=a&ep=ASE
