Description | A proposed new greenfield international airport at Purandar in Pune district, Maharashtra, intended to address the oversaturation of the existing Pune International Airport. The airport will feature two parallel runways, an apron for over 100 aircraft, a cargo terminal, and facilities for MRO and flying training. The project is being developed through a public-private partnership with a special purpose vehicle formed by City and Industrial Development Corporation, Maharashtra Airport Development Company, MIDC, and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority. The development plan for 2832 hectares of land is at an advanced stage. |
