Description
Description | As part of a pilot project, this project involves acquiring a 30-foot electric bus in order to test it over a complete maintenance and operation cycle and to assess deployment scenarios over the entire system. With the cost savings achieved through this pilot project, the RTL wishes to add 18 additional studies to evaluate the deployment scenarios for electric buses across its network. These additional studies that need to be completed are part of the initial description of the project to test the acquisition of a bus over a full cycle of maintenance and operation. The studies are as follows: (1) study of the future commercial offer of all-electric buses and their charging system; (2) forecast demand for public transit in the territory served by the RTL; (3) forecasting the changing needs of RTL vehicles; (4) review of park management and deployment plans; (5) evaluation of the need to upgrade the computerized service planning system; (6) review of industry best practices for the operation, maintenance (routine and periodic) and charging of electric buses; (7) optimization of inspection processes (RDS), routine maintenance and refueling / refilling at RTL; (8) conceptual business planning study; (9); location study (optional); (10) transition plan for operations and facilities; (11) preliminary designs of facilities for budgetary purposes; (12) impact study of electrification on tasks; (13) study of skill gaps; (14) study of hiring and training needs; (15) entering into agreements with Hydro-Québec; (16) study of the impact of all required changes and investments (CAPEX) on the acquisition and operating costs of the RTL between 2019 and 2024; (17) financing plan; (18) implementation master plan. |
