The action represents purchasing of investigation tools for the retrieval, deciphering and analysis of digital evidence to be used by the Financial Crime Investigation Service (FCIS) criminal intelligence and investigation staff. The investigation tools will be used to detect, investigate, prosecute and disrupt fraud and other illegal activities affecting the financial interests of the Union. The action is composed of the purchase and bringing into operation of the investigation tools and hands-on training for FCIS criminal intelligence and investigation staff. The implementation of the action is expected to develop the intelligence and operational capacities of FCIS and ensure effective technical support to FCIS regional departments; strengthen digital data collection and analytical capacities; improve skills and analytical powers of the FCIS intelligence staff as well as expand data sharing with international information systems and strengthen international cooperation through the operation of joint investigation teams to tackle rampant fraud crossing the borders.
