Description

Description

This project consists of the purchase of four new battery electric minibuses (BEBs), ten new diesel buses, and two used diesel buses. The scope of the work includes procurement of four new battery electric minibuses, ten new diesel buses, and two used diesel buses. The aim of the project is to take first steps towards transit electrification, while also fulfilling fleet continuity and transit service growth objectives. The purchase of new diesel buses is intended to maintain adequate service coverage during the early phases of electric transit transition. This project is part of a longer-term project which includes the arrival of the first electric buses in our fleet, and based on the preparatory work completed, will allow the Capital Area Transit Coordinating Committee to develop knowledge of electrification while also significantly expanding the transit service after we replace more urgently needed fleet and test smaller electric buses.
