Purchase of vehicles, wheelchair adaptation components, and supporting infrastructure to establish a public transit system to connect the municipalities of Edmundston and Haut-Madawaska, New Brunswick

The beneficiary will acquire a bus and six additional vehicles to provide a public transportation service covering the territory of Edmundston, Haut-Madawaska, and the Maliseet First Nation. The service will improve mobility for residents in rural areas and offer better access to the labour market, health care, education, and public services. The project also includes, as capital assets, the installation of bus shelters, signage and stop posts to identify pick-up and drop-off points throughout the territory, the installation of charging stations, bicycle racks, wheelchair-accessible equipment, and electronic tablets for drivers.
