Description
Description | The subject of the FC measure PV system Tozeur is the partial financing of a grid-connected PV system with an installed capacity of 10 MWp at the Tozeur site, the financing of a technical implementation consultant and the support of STEG as part of an FC accompanying measure. The module goal is the efficient, ecologically and socially acceptable generation of electrical energy. This will partially avoid climate-damaging CO2 emissions and the import of natural gas. As a reference project, the measure serves as a basis for the further expansion of photovoltaics in Tunisia. Overall, the measure supports Tunisia in implementing its solar plan and its goal of generating 30% of electricity from renewable energies by 2030, and thus in diversifying its electricity mix and increasing energy independence. The target group is all electricity consumers in Tunisia connected to the grid. The project sponsor is the national energy supply company STEG (Société Tunisienne de l'Electricité et du Gaz). The FC contribution consists of a low-interest loan of EUR 11.5 million and a FC grant of EUR 0.5 million for the accompanying measure. PV Tozeur I is financed jointly with the European Union within the framework of the European Neighbourhood Investment Facility (NIF), which has contributed a grant of EUR 1.5 million. |
