The project involves the restructuring of the Plant and Vehicle Hiring and Engineering Services (PVHES) under a public private partnership (PPP) model in Malawi. The Government of Malawi is seeking strategic partners to inject additional capital into the company, provide additional expertise in plant hire and engineering services and improve its efficiency and put its operations on a sound commercial basis.The PVHES was established to offer plant and vehicle hire and related engineering services on a commercial basis to the public and private sectors. PVHES also provides regulatory and supervisory services to the government with regard to the registration of all government plant vehicles, standardization of mechanical equipment and related policy relating to the acquisition and disposal of such assets, and quality control services (inspection) of plant and vehicles that have been maintained or repaired by private sector workshops. With its central office currently situated in Lilongwe, PVHES has three primary operational locations in Blantyre, Lilongwe, and Mzuzu.
