Description | Qantas is conducting a 22-hour nonstop test flight of its first Airbus A350-1000ULR from Toulouse, France to Melbourne, Australia as part of the Project Sunrise programme. This test flight is part of Airbus' certification programme for the A350-1000ULR, which has been specially modified with an extra rear centre fuel tank and other engineering changes to extend its range for ultra long haul flights. The aircraft is expected to enter commercial service with Qantas in 2027, enabling nonstop flights from Australia's east coast to London and New York. |
