A proposed gas pipeline to transport natural gas from the South Pars/North Dome field in Qatar through Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Syria into Turkey, and then on to Europe. The project aims to provide an overland route for Gulf Arab gas to European markets, avoiding reliance on sea routes and the Strait of Hormuz chokepoint. However, the project faces significant challenges including political instability in Syria, high security risks, and the need for long-term contracts and stable regulation across multiple countries. The project remains theoretical with no construction started, as the commercial logic and regional stability are currently insufficient to support it.
