Description | This project involves the supply of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from QatarEnergy to Edison, a European customer. The supply was disrupted due to Iranian attacks damaging Qatar's LNG export capacity. After a peace deal between the United States and Iran, QatarEnergy expects to resume supplying about two-thirds of the contracted LNG volumes to Edison within 30-45 days. Edison has a long-term contract for 6.4 billion cubic metres of gas per year, which accounts for 10% of Italy's annual gas consumption. |
