Description | Qihang is a state-owned Chinese offshore wind turbine developed by CRRC Corporation. It features a tower height of 151 meters and a rotor diameter of 260 meters, making it capable of generating 20 MW of power, surpassing previous models. It is designed for floating platforms, equipped with over 200 sensors for real-time monitoring, and can withstand extreme weather conditions such as typhoons. The turbine can produce up to 62 GWh of energy per year, enough to power 37,000 homes. The first unit was assembled and tested at the port of Guangli, Shandong province, before deployment on the high seas and connection to the power grid. |
