Description | In June 1998, Kumagai Gumi acquired a 20% stake in the project company that was awarded a contract to build and operate a toll road and bridge located in Fuzhou. The remaining 80% stake is held by China Everbright, a state-owned company. Kumagai Gumi paid US$ 32 million for the equity stake in the project company. The project involves the construction of a 6-lane cable stayed bridge 1.2 meters in length and 29 meters in width. It also envisages the construction of a 24-km toll road that runs from the Mawei district to Fuzhou's Changle International Airport. A total of US$ 169.1 million will be invested in the project.
