Description

In Aug 2012, construction of a biomass power plant in Qiyang County, Hunan Province commenced. The sponsor was a local private company, Wuhan Kaidi Holding Investment Co Ltd which had a 100% stake in the project. The total investment was US$ 37.23 million (RMB 230.64 million), out of which 70% was secured from the Bank of China, a state owned bank. The debt/equity ratio was therefore 7/3. The total capacity of the power plant was 25MW. Over 25% of construction had been finished by Jul 2013. It was expected that the project could be finished in 2013. A special purpose vehicle Qiyang County Kaidi Green Energy Development Company Limited was set up to implement the project.
