This project entails expanding QMC Telecom's 5G network infrastructure in Mexico, Colombia, and Peru. The initiative is sponsored by QMC Telecom International, a Puerto Rican company. The project's total cost is $16 million. A multi-country and multi-currency credit agreement was signed with IDB Invest, the private sector arm of the Inter-American Development Bank Group, and Proparco, a private sector lender from the French government. This agreement extends an existing $49 million facility signed with IDB Invest in 2021, with an additional $16 million commitment from Proparco, bringing the total to $65 million. The senior loans, featuring a 2-year delayed draw component and a total tenor of 9 years, will support QMC’s infrastructure investments in the three countries.
