The QualifAI project promotes the responsible and effective use of artificial intelligence (AI) in credential recognition processes across the ENIC-NARIC network. It aims to deliver administrative efficiency, improved recognition quality to support automatic recognition, better labor market outcomes, harmonized digital practices across the EU, sustainable adoption of available software, and capacity building on generative AI in education and recognition fields. To achieve this, the project focuses on interconnected activities addressing expertise gaps and AI application in ENIC-NARIC offices. Key activities include robust project management to ensure effective coordination, a comprehensive survey to map AI usage and challenges across the network, and a feasibility study exploring AI’s potential and limitations at the Norwegian, French, and Dutch ENIC-NARIC centers. AI tools will be tested to assess their suitability for credential recognition, with findings documented to guide future applications. The project will deliver practical guidelines to enable responsible AI use in the network. Results will be shared widely through reports, guidelines, and a dedicated conference to foster collaboration among stakeholders. By combining analysis, testing, and dissemination, QualifAI enhances knowledge about AI in the ENIC-NARIC network, laying a strong foundation for integration into credential recognition processes and encouraging policy reforms. The outputs include actionable blueprints and practical guidelines—essential toolkits designed for the ENIC-NARIC network and related organizations. These tools provide tangible resources to improve operations and support policy reform in the field.
