Quality improvement of intra-EU trade data in the context of the micro data exchange

With the advent of micro data exchange within the context of international trade in goods statistics, new perspectives for reconciliation of asymmetries appear. This project explores these perspectives in three work packages: two technical ones and a coordination layer. Within the project, traditional asymmetry studies are expanded by asymmetry studies on micro data. Moreover, the potential use of micro data in estimations will be explored. The overall objective of the project is to reduce asymmetries and thereby increase the accuracy of ITGS. Moreover, the project is a major step towards a future use of exchanged micro data in ITGS production. This use will be a precondition for substantial burden reductions in the future.
