Description
Description | The activities to be carry out within this project indirectly follow the work already done in the context of improving the quality of macroeconomics indicators such as GDP and GNI. The main goal is to improve and develop the National Accounts including the GNI. Within the EU call for grants 2023, the Statistical Office of the Slovak Republic (further referred as “SOSR”) decided to apply for a grant to ensure that all changes and modifications in the amended Regulation (EU) No 549/2013 of the European Parliament and of the Council reflected in the ESA 2010 methodology (Annex A) and Transmission programme for data and Metadata (Annex B), are correctly implemented into NA data. To ensure the consistency between NA and BoP data and to improve the GNI figure, it will be challenging to incorporate all issues addressed within the project in the benchmark revision 2024. Consistency of NA and BoP data and their quality is very important for economic and monetary policy makers and their decisions. Moreover, metadata are to be compiled on the data transmitted and are to be made available to users within the quality reports in required structure in accordance with Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2016/2304. Therefore, the SOSR plans to elaborate the AFA Inventory and publish it on the website. The project results to be achieved within individual work packages will contribute to the overall improvement of the quality of NA and GNI, to the harmonisation of methodology at the national and EU level, and will ensure better consistency of NA and BoP data. Information regarding the benchmark revision 2024 including the estimated impact on GDP and GNI will be communicated in advance to all users and will be published on the website of the SOSR. |
