Quang Ninh LNG gas power plant project is invested in Cam Thinh ward, Cam Pha city, with a total estimated investment of 47,480 billion VND ($ 2 billion), invested by PV Power-Colavi-Tokyo Gas-Marubeni joint venture. This is the first power plant project using imported LNG in the North. Construction investment scale includes: 1 LNG gas power plant with capacity of 1,500 MW; 1 LNG import terminal for ships of 71,500 DWT; 2 LNG storage tanks with capacity of 100,000 m3/tank with regasification system; the connection between the dock and the LNG storage facility is a liquid LNG pipeline with a length of about 3-3.5km; connect the plant to the national grid system by a newly built 500 kV transmission line about 30 km long from the factory to the Quang Ninh 500 kV station in Thong Nhat commune, Ha Long city.
