Queen Elizabeth Hospital Air Handling Unit #1 and #3

This project will replace Air handling units (AHU) #1 & #3 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. The Air handling units are fixed assets. AHU #1 system feeds supply, return, exhaust air as well as isolation air to two isolation rooms. This particular system services the main level nursing unit (Unit 4) which is a Nursery/ Nursery Intensive Care Unit (NICU), as well as the lower nursing unit (Unit 9) which is a Mental Health Unit/ Alternative Level of Care (ALC) Unit. AHU #3 system feeds supply, return, exhaust air as well as isolation air to four isolation rooms. This particular system services the main level nursing unit (Unit 2) which is a Medical/Surgical Unit, as well as the lower nursing unit (Unit 6) which is Internal Medicine/Social Work/ Pediatric Out Patient Unit. Other aspects of this project work include new exhaust fan in these units to provide general washroom and soiled utility room exhaust; New Isolation exhaust fan to do current isolation rooms as listed above. Improved controls and valving for better air volume control and energy efficiencies. As well as all required patching and repairs & painting to accommodate the installation of this system.
