Description

Description

This project is to replace the air handling unit system at Queen Elizabeth Hospital which services the main level nursing unit (Unit 1) which is a medical/surgical/oncology PCU Unit, as well as the lower nursing unit (Unit 5) which is a Pediatric Unit. It also services the Pediatric Clinic which is housed in the Pediatric Unit. This project will also include new exhaust fans in these units to provide general washroom and soiled utility room exhaust; and new isolation exhaust fans to services current isolation rooms as listed above. This project includes improved controls and valves for better air volume control and energy efficiency, as well as patching, repairs and painting to accommodate the installation. A catastrophic failure of any of these units would cause significant disruption to hospital operations. These units are beyond recommended lifespan of 25 years and replacement units will greatly improve the quality of patient care.
