Queen Street Station Development

Network Rail has unveiled proposals to develop a 1.85 acre vacant site adjacent to Queen Street railway station. The scheme aims to improve the experience for around 15 million users of the station and deliver new commercial office space supporting approximately 350 new jobs. The proposals include a new office building, a new station entrance from North Hanover Street, more station retail space, and public spaces. The project aligns with Glasgow's 2030 City Centre Strategy and aims to improve connectivity to George Square and The Avenues public realm programmes. The first phase will deliver new sustainable office space, with future phases potentially including more office and residential buildings totaling 40,000 square meters of commercial space. The design team is led by the Comprehensive Design Partnership in collaboration with Arup, and the development is a joint venture with blockwork.
