Queens Bridge Replacement

Queens Bridge, a pedestrian and cycle bridge linking Queens Park and Kempston, was found to have vital structural decay making repair unviable and unsafe. The bridge was closed immediately for safety. Bedford Borough Council is planning to replace the bridge with a new structure, aiming to begin construction next year pending planning approval. A business case with options and costs will be presented to Full Council for approval. The council is discussing dismantling the old bridge and designing, building, and erecting a new one with their term contractor.
