The project aims to provide faster, more reliable service year-round, especially ahead of the FIFA World Cup matches in June 2026. Broadway will maintain one travel lane in each direction for general traffic while the new bus lane runs in the center of the roadway. The city Department of Transportation plans to present the proposal to the local community board. Construction is expected to be completed before the World Cup matches begin in June 2026, with the project framed as a long-term investment in transit connectivity. |
