Description | In October 2016, a consortium made up by the Mexican companies La Peninsular Compania Constructora, Operadora de Administracion Técnica (Grupo Hermes) and Constructora y Pavimentadora Vise was awarded the contract rehabilitate and operate the 324.8-km Queretaro – San Luis Potosi road between Queretaro and San Luis Potosi. Besides the winning consortium, ten others took part in the bidding process: • Mota Engil México, Calzada Construcciones, Construcciones y Dragados del Sureste and Constructora y Promotora Malibran; • Foja Ingenieros Construcciones, Grinnav, Conreccsa, Grupo Edificador Genesis and Senalatex; • Promotora y Desarrolladora Mexicana de Infraestructura; • Acciona Mantenimiento de Infraestructura; • Coconal and Operadora de Autopistas; • Integradora Latinoamericana de Infraestructura Constructiva, Grupo Edificador Baesgo, Constructora Eunice, Constructora Feluxa, Servicios de Consultoria en Infraestructura Vial and Icapsa Infraestructura de Desarrollo; • Omega Construcciones Industriales; • Servyre, Grupo Fervic, Construobras de la Garza and Construcciones Carretera; • Epccor, Aldesa Construcciones, Proacon Mexico, Construcciones Aldesem, Mantenedora de Caminos Aldesem and Sociedad Mexicana de Infraestructura; • Red de Carretera de Occidente, RCO Carreteras, Asfaltos Guadalajara and Rexy. The bidding criteria was the highest rating, considering technical and economic criteria. In particular, the winner was supposed to indicate the lowest cost to undertake the project. The winning bid was a value of US$ 265.7 million (Pesos 4.963 billion). The sponsor created the special purpose company R&M Queretaro – San Luis Potosi, S.A. de C.V. to lead the project. The 10-year contract was signed in November 2016, and the sponsor took over the operations in November 2016. |
