Description | An investigation revealed 66 flood control projects in Quezon City from 2022 to 2025 with location issues, including 35 projects without coordinates and 31 with incorrect coordinates. The total number of DPWH flood control projects increased to 331 with a total cost of ₱17 billion, but only two were formally approved by the local government. Site inspections found some projects built in waterways or with damaged retaining walls. A memorandum of agreement was signed with the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers and the University of the Philippines Resilience Institute to study and salvage these projects. A cease-and-desist order has been considered for ongoing projects that may worsen flooding. |
