Description | The Quinbrook Northern Quartz Campus is a massive manufacturing project planned at the Lansdown Eco Industrial Precinct, 40km south of Townsville. It aims to produce ethically sourced quartz for low-carbon and digital industries, with stage one including a metallurgical silicon production facility, biochar plant, and 500MW of solar generation. The project is expected to create over 1000 construction jobs and nearly 300 long-term operational jobs, with a potential to generate approximately $150 million per year. When fully developed, it is estimated to be worth more than $8 billion (US) and support 2500 permanent, high-skilled operational jobs. |
