Description	Hydrostor plans to develop a compressed air energy storage project in Greater Napanee, Ontario, alongside the Mohawks of the Bay of Quinte First Nation, who will act as the Indigenous equity partner. The project will use Hydrostor’s advanced compressed air energy storage (A-CAES) technology to provide long-duration energy storage to Ontario’s power grid in the 2030s. It recently received municipal support from Greater Napanee and will move into the permitting phase. The initial phase is expected to have 500 MW and up to 1,600-MWh of capacity, targeting operations from 2033. The development is partly funded by a USD 50 million convertible development expenditure loan facility from the Canada Growth Fund.
