Description | The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) is investigating unusual wheel wear on 24 R160 model subway trains, which were taken out of service due to this mechanical issue. The trains are relatively new, about 15 years old, and the issue has caused longer wait times and service disruptions on the R train line in Brooklyn. To mitigate delays, some trains from the G line have been reassigned to the R line. The MTA is working to determine and fix the underlying cause while trying to restore normal service. |
