Gifted Films West is applying for MEDIA Co-Development Support to develop their feature film project RAAN, with Nordisk Film Production (Norway and Wild Atlantic Pictures (Ireland), to the highest creative and market standards. Our co-development project is a supernatural thriller called RAAN, based on Nordic mythology. We intend to work with our Norwegian screenwriter in order to co-develop the project with three European companies (Gifted Films West from Germany, Wild Atlantic Pictures from Ireland and Nordisk Film Production from Norway). This process will be supported by targeted development work together with our director and, among other things, by the support of consultants. Creative input from production designers, Prosthetics Supervisor and VFX supervisors will also be brought in to further define the world and scope of the project. Visual concept art will be created in conjunction with marketing materials to successfully showcase and package the project. We will also cast our leading role with our casting director and scout the locations in Germany, Ireland and Norway. All of these will enable us to find national and international funding partners as well as global distribution partners. Our aim for the Creative Europe application is to develop our project to the highest standards, paying particular attention to the management of innovation and creativity, with the twin goals of sustainability and diversification which is the core in RAAN in front and behind the camera, not only but also because of the theme on which the film is based. Through innovative synergies with partners in financing, distribution, marketing, and sales, we aim to develop a feature film that will reach the required audience and cultural reach internationally at the highest level.
