Description | The Race Street is an important gateway for the City of Port Angeles, and one of the City's most active arterials. Through grant funding, the City has taken the initiative to develop Race Street into a multi-modal corridor bringing safety and equity for all pedestrians, bicyclists, vehicles and transit users. The project area extends from Front Street to the Olympic National Park Visitor Center in an effort to improve the connection between the Olympic Discovery Trail and the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center and provide local multi-modal connections along Race Street. The recent survey that was available for community members to complete brought in over 250 responses, and the September 12th Public Open House had over 50 people sign in as attendees. The Race Street Team's next steps will be using the feedback gathered from the public survey and meeting and priority setting using the project goals to develop a full 30% design from the developed design alternatives. |
