Description
Description | The consortium will manage and operate the airport for the next 15 years, paying a lease fee of US$22.5 million for the whole period (30% of this payment will be kept by the concessionaire to be invested in infrastructure improvements). Schiphol Management Services (SMS) headed the consortium by holding 33% of the shares until Jul. 1998, but, because of financial difficulties, it transferred its shares to AENA, the operator of Barranquilla Airport. Remaining shares are held by Corporacion Financiera Colombiana (10%) and by local private investors and regional governemnt bodies (47%). In March 2010, Aeronautica Civil extended the concession on the Aeropuerto de Cartagena by nine years and required approximately Peso$100bil in improvement and modernisation work at the terminal. The concession would now last until 2019 |
