Description | Equinor ASA has started drilling operations at the Raia project, its largest ongoing development in Brazil's pre-salt Campos Basin. The project involves drilling six wells using the Valaris DS-17 rig, located about 200 kilometers off Brazil's coast at a depth of 2,900 meters. The development includes a floating production, storage, and offloading (FPSO) vessel connected to production wells, processing oil, condensate, and gas. Natural gas will be transported via a 200-kilometer pipeline to Cabiúnas. The FPSO is designed for high carbon efficiency, emitting only 6 kg of CO2 per barrel. The project aims to start production in 2028 and is expected to generate up to 50,000 jobs over the next three decades. |
