Rail Baltica Mainline Construction Project

The project involves the construction of an 870 km long high-speed railway line, outside the borders of Riga city, intending to integrate the Baltic States into the European rail network.The tasks involve establishing the infrastructure for the Rail Baltica railway mainline covering around 230 km. This encompasses tasks such as constructing track substructures and superstructures, including land preparation, dams, railway bridges, roads, underground road crossings, transport structure construction, relocating engineering networks, and installing tracks and ballast. The project includes five European Union countries – Poland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and indirectly also Finland. It will connect Helsinki, Tallinn, Pärnu, Riga, Panevežys, Kaunas, Vilnius, Warsaw. The rail line will be used for both passenger and freight traffic. The rail line will be powered by electricity, producing less noise and vibration. Maximum train speed will be 249 km/h (passengers), and 120 km/h (freight).
