Description

A series of track closures on the German side of the Elbe Valley is causing disruptions to freight flows between Polish hubs (Gdańsk, Poznań, Malaszewicze) and North Sea ports (Hamburg, Rotterdam). The German infrastructure manager DB InfraGO is rationing train paths, forcing carriers to cancel or split services. Closures on the Schöna–Bad Schandau and Obervogelgesang–Bad Schandau sections run at night through 18 May, with daytime single-track working between Königstein and Kurort Rathen from 29 April exacerbating congestion.
