Limits: N'ly intersection of Rainbow Canyon Road and Frontage Road to the City of Temecula limits. Length: Approximately 0.98 Mile District: 3 Community: Rainbow Canyon Brief Description: The County of Riverside Transportation Department is proposing to resurface Rainbow Canyon Road from the Northerly intersection of Rainbow Canyon Road and Frontage Road to the City of Temecula limits. Rainbow Canyon Road is classified as a Secondary highway in the County of Riverside’s General Plan. Rainbow Canyon Road is currently 26 feet wide with AC dike along various segments of the roadway. The proposed project will include cold planning from the intersection of Frontage Rd northerly approximately 2000 LF and overlaying with Hot Mix Asphalt. The remainder of the road shall be cleaned, crack seal and Tack coated prior to overlaying with Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA). The proposed project will also include • Reconstruction of AC dike • Construction of AC dike along road sections adjacent to slopes • Placement of safety edge and shoulder backing • Striping of roadway, including pavement markers and reflectors • Salvage/removal and installation of new signs • Reconstruct existing earthen swale • Reconstruct existing AC and concrete driveways No additional right-of-way will be required to construct the proposed improvements. The project improvements will be within the existing footprint of the roadway.
