Description	The Chhattisgarh government has approved the Raipur-to-Durg metro rail project as part of the creation of a State Capital Region (SCR) modeled after the National Capital Region (NCR). The project includes a metro corridor connecting Raipur, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, and Durg-Bhilai to improve transit, reduce congestion, and serve over 50 lakh people expected to reside in the region by 2031. The state government sanctioned Rs 5 crore in the 2024-25 budget for a feasibility survey of the project. The Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) will oversee the development, planning, and regulation of the project, including funding through a special infrastructure cess.
