Description

Description

Each of the 1200 students at Zwijsen College needs to know about the European Union. They gain through the years at school knowledge of European and World Citizenship. This is part of all subjects but not always explicitly. The aim of this project is to raise the level of knowledge and skills for becoming a European Citizen of the world through building an integrated continuous learning path for European Citizenship. As The Netherlands and Veghel especially are a region of trade, food and technology, each student will experience studying and working in a European and International context. Therefore we as teachers and staff of Zwijsen College want to work on the REAL EUROPE project to raise the awareness of students, teachers and school management about European issues, knowledge and skills so each student can leave school with a EuroPass full of experience. The REAL EUROPE project helps us to execute and expand on the goals of EPAS School activities. Zwijsen College is part of the EPAS School network since the accreditation 15 November 2024. EPAS is a Network of approx. 2000 schools with 5000 senior Ambassadors (teachers) and 35000 junior Ambassadors (students) through Europe and is part of the wider community of schools that work with materials from the platform together.eu. Zwijsen College has now a team of 10 Senior Ambassadors and 4 junior Ambassadors. We aim to grow in competences and knowledge by stimulating the collaboration between the colleagues and students. We apply for the money of Jean Monnet to allow for more and more students to learn in subject Lessons and cross-disciplinary projects about European Values, for staff members to learn to integrate Europe in their subject lessons and for School Management to become active partners in European Learning networks as ESHA.
