Description

The project involves the construction of Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) in North Carolina, USA.The project aims to support growth in passenger volume and the ability of airport facilities to meet the current and future demand for aviation in the Research Triangle region. The scope of work includes:expansion of Park Economy 3 by enlarging the current parking area to provide 8,000 more parking spaces for PG-1 and PG-2 replacement and future passenger growth. A multi-level building for law enforcement and parking operations will also be built, along with covered walkways, new bus shelters and canopies.the Aviation Parkway and National Guard Drive interchange will be upgraded for capacity and safety. The interchange will have new road infrastructure linking the expanded parking lot to Aviation Parkway and a new bridge overpass to ensure uninterrupted shuttle bus movement between the terminal area and Park Economy 3.the Terminal 2 Landside Expansion program comprises three sub-phases: Terminal 2 expansion, the rebuilding of Parking Garages 1 and 2, and the extension of John Brantley Boulevard.Terminal 2 expansion involves expanding the processor building, Federal Inspections Station (FIS) and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) areas. Parking Garages 1 and 2 will be demolished and replaced with 5 to 7-story decks, along with the pedestrian bridge and tunnel connections to Terminal 2. John Brantley Boulevard will be extended to make room for a future consolidated rental car facility (CONRAC), involving realigning the main road loop between Terminals 1 and 2.
