Ramaco Brook Rare Earth Mine

The Ramaco Brook Mine in Wyoming is the first new rare earth mine in the U.S. in over 70 years. It aims to break China's dominance in rare earth processing by mining and processing rare earth elements domestically. The mine contains 1.7 million tons of rare earth oxides and could supply nearly 30% of the U.S. Defense Department's magnetic requirements. It also represents the first new coal mine in Wyoming in decades, extracting rare earths from coal for cleaner production.
