Description | Rampion 2 is an extension to the existing Rampion Offshore Wind Farm in West Sussex, with a generating capacity of up to 1,200MW. The project includes up to 90 offshore wind turbines, up to three offshore substations, and export cables transmitting electricity to landfall at Climping Beach near Littlehampton. The onshore elements include a buried transmission cable running approximately 38.8km through West Sussex to a satellite substation near the Bolney substation in Mid Sussex. The project has received development consent and aims to be fully operational and connected to the grid by 2030. |
