 Randon S.A. Implementos e Participações (“Randoncorp” or the “Group”), headquartered in Brazil, is the largest manufacturer of trailers and semi-trailers in Latin America and a leading producer of several auto parts in Brazil mostly aimed for commercial vehicles. Founded in 1949, the Group employs more than 15,000 people and owns and operates more than 32 industrial units and 10 distribution centers spread through Brazil, Uruguay, Argentina, India, China, United States, UK and Netherlands. IFC’s proposed investment consists of an up to US$100m senior unsecured A-Loan (in BRL equivalent of ~BRL 500m) with a 9-year tenor (including 2-years grace period). IFC’s loan will partly support the Group’s 2023-25 capex plan related to Randoncorp’s ESG commitments, which consist of sustainability-related investments aimed at reducing GHG emissions, improving OHS within the Group’s factories, and increasing the number of women in leadership positions. These investments will take place during 2023- 2025 in Randon’s and Fras-Le Mobility’s plants in Brazil (all together, referred as “the Project”).
