Ranger Project Area Rehabilitation and Pit 3 Capping

Progressive rehabilitation at the Ranger Project Area continued through 2025 with a focus on the safe closure and progressive rehabilitation of the former Ranger uranium mine. The dry capping of Pit 3 has fallen behind schedule due to slower-than-expected tailings dry-out, prompting a review of capping design, engineering assumptions, and the closure timetable. Water management strategy was shifted to prevent rainfall and groundwater from entering the process water system, installing interception and diversion works to capture substantial inflows and reduce treatment volumes and costs. The Brine Concentrator achieved record distillate production following major maintenance.
