Description

Description

The project entails the development and operation of the second phase (110 MW) of Rantau Dedap Geothermal Power Plant (2 x 110 MW in total). Project is located in South Sumtra Province. PT Supreme Energy Rantau Dedap is the special purpose vehicle that is undertaking the project development on behalf of the sponsors - Engie (42%), Marubeni (32%), Tohoku Electric Power (10%) and Supreme Energy (16%). The project is developed in two phases each of 110 MW. On 12 November 2012, SERD entered a 30-year power purchase agreement (PPA) with the state-owned Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) to sell the electricity generated by the geothermal power plant. The project finance involves a $540 million debt package provided by Japan Bank for International Cooperation ($188.8 million), Asian Development Bank ($175.3 million) and Climate Technology Fund ($50 million). Other banks involved are Mizuho Bank Ltd., Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ, and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation as well as Nippon Export and Investment Insurance as guarantor, each contributing around $31.5 million. Financing closed on March 23, 2018. https://ijglobal.com/data/transaction/41255/rantau-dedap-geothermal-power-plant-phase-2 https://www.power-technology.com/projects/rantau-dedap-geothermal-power-project-south-sumatra/
