Description | Africa-focused renewable energy company Infinity Power has officially launched the construction of its 200-MW Ras Ghareb wind farm project in Egypt’s Gulf of Suez region. The project is Infinity Power’s first greenfield wind farm in Egypt and is expected to have an annual output of around 810,000 MWh, offsetting about 400,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions. The electricity generated will be sold under a power purchase agreement with the Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company. The project is worth approximately USD 216.7 million and is due to be commissioned in 2027, contributing to Egypt's renewable energy targets and Infinity Power's goal to own 10GW of renewable assets across Africa by 2030. |
