The project entails the construction of an additional 50MW capacity to the existing 50MW coal reject based thermal power plant at Village Ratija, District Korba, Chattisgarh by Spectrum Coal & Power Ltd ("project company") . The plant is set up in two phases of 50MW each. Phase I of the plant was commissioned on 27 February 2013 (other details not available) and Phase II is scheduled to start operations by March 2017. The project sponsor is ACB (India) Ltd.Information on contract award method is not available. A 20 year PPA has been signed with Chhattisgarh State Power Trading Company (SPTC) and RETL for 35% of the capacity and the remaining will be sold through competitive bidding and on a merchant basis. The total project cost is USD $74.7million (INR 2.5billion)and will be financed in a Debt:Equity Ratio of 67/33. Financing comprises USD $40.3 million (INR 2.5billion) 11-year term loan provided by Axis Bank and USD $34.4 million (INR 2.1billion) equity.
