Description

Description

Ravensong Aquatic Centre Expansion Project New Build The Ravensong Aquatic Centre Expansion project will double the size of the current, over-subscribed, 1995-built facility, connecting rural and urban residents of the Oceanside, BC area with publicly accessible, affordable aquatics programming that meets the needs of our diverse community. In meeting the highest published accessibility standards, the new facility will improve the RDN’s ability to serve community members facing additional barriers to participation, including seniors and residents with disabilities. Meeting the Canada Green Building Council’s Zero Carbon Standard V4, the highly efficient, all-electric building design will improve community services while cutting annual emissions by 94% and using 25% less energy than if designed to the 2020 National Energy Code for Buildings. The new facility includes a new pool area, design that addresses current facility overheating, and modernized change rooms that both alleviate current congestion and better accommodate diverse users.
