Description

The proposed project consists of a senior loan of up to US$ 15 million to Rawbank S.A.R.L. (the “Bank”) in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and advisory services to support the Bank’s risk management framework. The project consists of: (i) A senior loan of approximately US$ 12.9 million for IFC’s own account; (ii) a senior loan of approximately US$ 2.1 million for the account of the SME Global Finance Facility; and (iii) an advisory services component to assist the Bank in strengthening its risk management framework. The project objectives are to: (i) enhance the Bank’s capacity to expand financial services specifically to small and medium-sized enterprises (“SMEs”) and women-owned SMEs through providing a loan and performance incentive for outreach to these segments; (ii) promote financial inclusion by supporting the Bank’s expansion of its financial services network to a larger and more diversified customer base; (iii) strengthen the Bank’s risk management framework.
