 IFC intends to invest up to US$100 million loan to Raxio Group (“The Company” or the “Group”) to finance phased development of a portfolio of ten “metro – edge” carrier-neutral Data Centres (“DC”) with a total capacity of 13.5MW. Current target markets include Angola Ethiopia, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Ivory Coast, Mozambique, Tanzania, and Uganda (“The Project”).Raxio commissioned its first DC (0.5MW) in Uganda in December 2021 and second in Ethiopia (0.5 MW) in February 2024. The company has started construction in Angola (0.5MW), DRC (1.5MW), Ivory Coast (0.5MW), and Mozambique (0.5MW) with targeted commissioning in 2024. The proposed (0.5MW) DC for Tanzania is at pre-development phase. The sites for additional three (3) DCs will be determined by business needs.  DCs in Angola, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Mozambique, and Uganda are in industrial areas, without resident communities in the surroundings.
