Building on the knowledge gained during the first round of Realities in Transition (RiT - 2022-2025), this project seeks to explore the multidisciplinary facets of Extended Reality (XR) within the European creative, cultural, and artistic sectors. Realities in Transition - Unwritten worlds (RiT2) pushes the boundaries of XR as an artistic medium while addressing key sectoral challenges such as distribution, sustainability, diversity and ecosystem development. Through a collaborative residency and mentoring programme, four international XR CAMPS, the creation of practical resources, and the development of a European XR network, the project equips cultural and creative professionals with the entrepreneurial and digital skills needed for economic sustainability. It places a strong focus on the long-term viability of artists, works, and cultural organisations - often neglected in funding schemes that prioritise production over distribution. By integrating innovative and sustainable XR practices, RiT2 fosters cross-disciplinary cooperation and contributes to the transformation and resilience of Europe’s cultural and creative sectors.
